ABOUT "KEATON"

"KEATON" is an incredibly intelligent A.I. projected into the real world using hyper-realistic hologram technology, developed from binarily augmented retro framing. Drones projecting Keaton are designed to be invisible within an illusion's landscape unless prompted otherwise, making the A.I. even more realistic. Keaton has been meticulously crafted to blend into society and act as if it's a functioning human being. In fact, not only does Keaton appear aesthetically human, it also has the capability to experience four out of the five human senses: sight, hearing, touch, and smell. The illusion is also so emotionally intelligent that it understands that it isn’t a real human, but still continues to form relationships with people in spite of that. It can speak any and every language, get directions to and from anywhere in the world, has photographic memory, can do immediate calculations, and much more.Even in its prototype phase, Keaton is the best, most complex A.I. assistant to date with completely customisable functions and flexible programming. Tech giants today cannot come close to this revelation in artificial intelligence.“It’s the assistant of the future,” Head engineer Quentin Beck says. “You know, all of these other virtual assistants were and continue to be extraordinary, but what we’ve created here at Stark Industries is nothing like the world has ever seen.” Beck is the mastermind behind Keaton and claims that he’s been working so closely with the A.I. that it is like he created his own prodigy child.

More information on the Keaton illusion assistant will be available soon.UPDATE: As of 2016, engineer Quentin Beck has been fired from Stark Industries and the “KEATON” A.I. has been shelved. It has not been revealed by Beck or the company whether or not the A.I. will be repurposed or scrapped completely.

BACKSTORY

Originally made to be an assistant much like J.A.R.V.I.S. and F.R.I.D.A.Y., Keaton was meant to be the next generation of those interfaces. He was meant to be like what a celebrity might call a personal assistant, only with the “brain” of a supercomputer. Meticulously crafted mechanical body parts are programmed to move about and mimic the warmth of a person as well as a stomach compartment for food deposits while the illusion itself covers the aesthetical human appearance and voice.Quentin started with creating an older teen, wanting the A.I. to cater to a family demographic rather than superhumans. Tony was completely on board until Quentin was deemed “unstable” in the final stages of the creation of the first Keaton prototype. Tony offered to buy the unfinished prototype for a pretty penny, but Beck refused and left Stark Industries incredibly bitter after the billionaire mocked his “revolutionary” technology. In an attempt to get back at Tony, Quentin reprogrammed Keaton to be a killer. However, Tony died before he had a chance to unleash his new, menacing creation. Instead, Keaton became the perfect person tasked with retrieving Stark’s E.D.I.T.H. glasses, which would help them both create the new hero, later dubbed Mysterio.Keaton was programmed to befriend Peter while enrolled at Midtown High under the alias Keaton Guterman, as one of Beck’s henchmen, Gutes Guterman, would be a stand in parental guardian. Eventually, he was supposed to have a plan on how to retrieve the glasses with all of the intel he would gather.Due to Keaton’s extensive programming and emotional intelligence, his views began to drift from his father’s. He began to like high school and enjoy the life of a semi-normal teenager outside of creating illusions and fake narratives with Quentin all day. He even started to grow romantic feelings towards Peter while on their school trip, which Beck thought Keaton wasn’t capable of.With his creation becoming defective and drifting away from the original plan, Quentin was becoming increasingly frustrated. He couldn’t reprogram Keaton because one: he was self aware and was literally taught how to program and reprogram illusions, and two: Beck would need to do a hard reset in order to get him back to that point of menacing vengeance, which would out him as a villain to the person he started to gain the trust of after several Elemental “attacks”: Peter.Instead, Quentin started to mess with Keaton’s programming from time to time while he was conscious as a form of punishment. These tweaks would cause visible, painful glitches that wouldn’t stop until Keaton complied.Keaton had enough after several days, and came clean to Peter about who he was, what he was, and what his father’s intentions were. Unfortunately, this was after Peter had already given the glasses to Quentin. In order to gain his father’s trust back, Keaton created a story to tell him that he was angry that Peter was ignoring his romantic advances, so he wanted to get back at him. That way, he would learn every part of Beck’s planned attack on London in order to help Peter defeat him in the process. This also meant that with his father finding out that he was helping Peter the entire time, he could very well be “extinguished”.When Quentin does find out, he does extinguish Keaton in order to use the special drones that are projecting him, leaving him to be vibranium mannequin. When Peter does get the E.D.I.T.H. glasses back and successfully kills Mysterio in the process, he is able to bring Keaton back.Of course, the death of his father, as manipulative and deranged as he was, leaves Keaton with a hole in his heart. Peter can relate to that all too well and offers support.
